The MRC-Information System Portal provides a "one-stop-shop" for data and information related to the Mekong River Basin. Its various services allow users to interactively search, view and download selected information. All services may be accessed through the menus on the left-hand side of this page. Services currently provided include:
Interactive Maps
This high-powered feature allows the exploration of lower river basin maps through an interactive toolbar and sets of detailed data layers, which can be switched on and off based on user preferences. The maps can be searched and displayed with manual navigation tools as well as text-based queries. Scales and distances are displayed at each level, and all the maps are printable.
Data Exploration
Use the Metadata Explorer to browse or search metadata for spatial (GIS) data and services, by defining a geographical area of interest and/or entering search criteria such as content type, content theme or optional keywords. Detailed information, geographic coverage and full metadata in the ISO 19115 standard can be displayed for each entry. This section also includes detailed documentation of the structure and contents of all the MRC-IS geospatial databases, and further details of all feature classes and tables of core datasets stored in the “MRC” geospatial database.
